[Info] Canon and headcanon
Old headcanon post
I just felt like doing one since I know I've been saying headcanon stuff all over in like serious polls and things but I haven't compiled it anywhere since that first one.
Pre-Edo
- People tend to think he was popular or something but he was really more of a loner because he wasn't interested in getting along with people.
- He gets along better with professionals and adults than he does with his peers. However adults in positions of authority that try to use that on him get scoffed at. He sees himself as equal to most adults.
- Kon is not as experienced sexually as people seem to think! Sob. Really he doesn't have that much relationship experience either and he finds people to be troublesome. I've said this somewhere before though; he has fooled around a little bit because there were probably a couple girls that were attracted to him because of his reputation. He was mostly in it for the chance to try something he hadn't done yet. It was a very brief fling.
- It's headcanon that he learned to cook before he went to Edo. He cooked his own meals after school, most likely not because he needed to but because he was interested in it.
Edo
- 4comas: Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4
- Youtube link to a drama CD translation. Among the odd jobs that Kon has done, he has interpreted foreign languages for people before. That seems to mean spoken as well as written? I assume his reading is the strongest though...
- The anime actually tells me he was with the old lady that found him for a month, suffering from tetanus. The idea that he probably exploded at her at some point holds true still though. She's probably the one that recommended Shamon to him, since he was well enough to get angry and run around like a fool by then.
- He moved out of the old lady's place after he started talking with Shamon and Kuchiha. He worked at the temple first, mostly doing the cooking, occasionally nagged into helping with the cleaning, but it probably wasn't too long before he started looking elsewhere for other work since I think he would have wanted to pay the old lady back for helping him.
- The job that Kon ended up with actually was kind of orchestrated by Sasaki, to learn more about Kon. Still, the old bookseller that Kon started working for actually took a liking to him.
- Again, Kon gets along with adults better, but in Edo people grow up faster and he has an easier time learning to respect people his own age. He mellows out a bit because of this.
- Kon gets in trouble with the police. At first it was probably entirely unintentional and he just slipped up and acted a little weird and suspicious because he was still adjusting to old customs and stuff... But the police chief in the area is a total teddy bear so after he got more adjusted to things he'd occasionally cause trouble just to keep the guy on his toes.
Camp
- Kon pays unscheduled visits to the Mushishi house just to annoy Takanari. Well, also cause he likes hanging out there, though he does tend to look for times when not everyone is there because he likes relaxing there.
- Kon doesn't borrow books from the library. It's sort of a rule he set for himself. He goes to the library pretty much every day as a result. He likes borrowing books from people though. It's a little more interesting that way.
- Chatting with Ginko has renewed some of Kon's interest in more modern inventions, because he gets to show them to someone who hasn't seen it before.
- Oh yeah, list of people Kon cooks for, just sort of whenever: Kuchiha, Toki, Takanari and Shizumasa, Ginko. I dunno, does Bonten actually eat any of Kon's cooking...?
