The ants head into the darkness, seeming to know exactly where they want to go, slow enough so the two of them can follow. The ground here lacks any of the colorful imaginations that have characterized the caves up until now, instead feeling strange and unsteady under your feet.

Though that may be true, time seems to drag a little while in here, with the darkness pressing around and nothing to really mark your passage. The ants start to look back at you two more often, wondering why the lagging...

The smaller ant suddenly stops and spins around toward Yayoi, putting the lantern down in front of her and jabbing a leg at it. 'Take!'

The ant nods, satisfied, then picks her right up with its pincers, marching on!

Bigger ant seems bemused by this for a moment before offering it's lantern to Red.

Big ant picks Red up! ...Despite that you have perfectly deadly pincers around your torso it feels much safer up here and time stops dragging...

This way is much faster! Maybe they will just decide to carry you from place to place from now on... Normally they expect everyone to move under their own strength but dangerous things are dangerous to fleshy creatures :|a.

The darkness is still extremely thick but now that you're not concentrating on how the ground is wobbly you notice that in the distance there seems to be a glow. The Ants aren't headed directly toward it but the glow gets stronger until you can see the silhouettes of the ruins similar to where the library they set up is located... Strangely the glow seems to be coming from an artificial sky that domes that area...

But anyway, you pass by that and are eventually dropped off in front of another torii. The ants settle nearby to see what you guys do.

There are two stone lanterns here framing the gate so it's at least safe to be on the ground again. Another panel pops open on the gate as you get close.
